Card Program Stakeholders

Customers: Foodbank service users who use Yariex prepaid cards for their transactions and benefits.

Food Bank: Provides the funds, determines the fund's expiry, and oversees customer service operations, ensuring all customers' concerns and issues are addressed promptly.

National Bank of Canada (NBC): The Issuing Bank for the Yariex Prepaid Cards. pursuant to a license from Mastercard International. NBC is a party to these User Terms solely in such capacity and is not liable to you under these User Terms other than to enable the issuance of Cards.

Synctera: The party offering you Cards under the Card Program. It also manages other aspects of the Card Program such as its compliance with laws.

‘We’, ‘us’, and ‘our’: National Bank of Canada but only as issuer of the Cards and not the offering party thereof, and/or Synctera as the party offering you Cards under this Agreement, according to the context.

Yariex: Manages the Card Program’s operations, ensuring the Card system's smooth operation.

If you experience any issues with your Card, including loss or theft, or if you have feedback, inquiries, or suggestions, don't hesitate to contact the affiliated Food Bank via their direct number or using the contact number provided on the back of your card (+1 844-218-4915) or utilize the 'Feedback' feature on the Yariex website (www.yariex.com).
No Fee to Use

Customers are not charged any fees for using the Card.
Funds Availability

Funds are added to your balance based on the schedule set by the Food Bank.

For scheduled funding, your balances will be updated on Saturday mornings, following deposits made on Friday midnights. If the funding is set to be monthly, deposits will be made on the first Friday following the set schedule and will continue every four weeks. For bi-weekly or weekly schedules, deposits will be made on the respective Fridays following the same pattern.

For initial funding, the deposit will be made at midnight on the day of approval.

Once your balance is updated, you can spend the funds immediately without any hold period.
Where You Can Spend It

The card is accepted at any merchant that accepts Mastercard unless the Food Bank has configured specific merchant restrictions. You can view any such authorized merchant configurations in the Yariex mobile app.

You are prohibited from using the card for illegal or prohibited activities.

Cashback and ATM withdrawals are not permitted.
How to Use Your Card:

Chip and PIN Transactions: Insert the card into a POS terminal and enter your PIN to complete the purchase.

Swipe Transactions: If the terminal doesn't accept chip cards, swipe your card and follow the instructions, which may include signing a receipt or entering a PIN.

Mobile App: Change your PIN directly through the Yariex mobile app.

Through Foodbank Organization: Request your associated Foodbank organization to set up the new PIN on your behalf.

Steps to Activate Your New PIN:

Via ATM Terminal: Insert your card into an ATM and enter your new PIN.

Via POS Terminal: Insert your card at a POS terminal and input your new PIN three times. Expect a 'wrong PIN' message after each entry. After the third attempt, the activation process is complete.

Termination Rights

The Food Bank reserves the right to end the program or suspend a user.

The Food Bank reserves the right to terminate a user's card due to illegal or unauthorized activities.

Card payments may be declined due to insufficient balance, unauthorized transactions, or suspected illegal/fraudulent activity.
Sharing the Card

The Customer is solely responsible for the card and its usage.

If the card has an associated PIN, it's the Customer's responsibility to protect it. Neither Yariex, Synctera, Food Bank nor the Issuing Bank can be held responsible for lost funds due to compromised card security.
Checking Your Balance

You can check your balance through the Yariex app or by calling the Food Bank.

It's your responsibility to ensure they have enough funds before purchasing.
Ownership

The funds on the card are the property of the Food Bank.

You cannot add funds or access the funds outside of spending with the issued card.
Expiry

The Food Bank's funding policy determines the expiry of the funds on the card. If you have concerns about the expiration of your funds or need information about renewal options, please get in touch with your associated Food Bank directly.
Lost Cards

If your card or PIN is lost, or you suspect unauthorized use, lock your card immediately through the Yariex app and contact the support team at Food Bank without delay to prevent unauthorized transactions.
